Ben Sharpe is a researcher in the ICCT’s heavy-duty vehicle program. He is currently doing technical analyses to support ongoing policy development for controlling criteria pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions from heavy-duty vehicles. Prior to joining the ICCT, Ben worked as a field engineer for an oilfield services company in Indonesia and Texas. In 2006, he began his doctorate work at the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Davis, where his research has primarily focused on life-cycle assessments of emission-control technologies for the heavy-duty vehicle sector. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, and his Ph.D. work at UC Davis is ongoing.
